About ICATS
ICATS (the ICA Training System) is a structured, interactive way to practice pool with purpose. It's designed for players who are tired of "just hitting balls" and want drills, feedback, and a repeatable process that actually transfers to matches.
What ICATS is
ICATS combines guided training content with a practice experience that's built to be consistent and measurable. Instead of random sessions, you work through structured modules and repeatable patterns with clear intent: cue-ball control, pattern play, safeties, transitions, and more.
The focus is simple: help you practice the right things, at the right difficulty, with enough repetition to become reliable under pressure.
Why we built it
Most players plateau because practice becomes unstructured: a little of this, a little of that, and not enough repetition of the skills that decide real racks. ICATS exists to make practice deliberate and sustainable -- so improvement doesn't depend on willpower, guesswork, or having a coach standing next to you.
How ICATS helps you improve
Structured progression
Practice is organized into modules and skills so you can train fundamentals first, then layer in decision-making and pattern execution.
Repeatable patterns
The fastest improvement comes from repeating the right patterns -- not the easy ones. ICATS is designed around repeatable setups so you can measure change over time.
Focus on match skills
Cue-ball routes, position play, safeties, and transitions show up in matches. Training should match the demands of competition.
Better feedback loops
A good drill tells you what to do next when you miss. ICATS emphasizes feedback and repeatability so each session builds on the last.
Who it's for
- League players who want consistency, not just "more time at the table."
- Competitive players who need repeatable pattern and safety training.
- Instructors and room owners who want structured drills students can follow.
- Solo practicers who want a plan instead of random sessions.
Our philosophy
- Clarity beats motivation. If the next step is obvious, you practice more.
- Consistency beats intensity. Small, repeatable sessions compound.
- Skills beat "shots." Train the underlying skill so it holds up under pressure.
- Measure what matters. Track progress with drills that have meaningful outcomes.
Where to start
If you're new to ICATS, start by browsing modules by skill, then choose a system that fits your space. If you already know your goals (cue-ball control, safeties, pattern play), pick a few modules and commit to repeating them for two weeks before you change anything.
Support & documentation
We maintain documentation for setup, troubleshooting, and training usage. If you're unsure what to buy or how to configure your space, the docs are the quickest way to get unblocked.
